downloading videos not working?

anyone else having trouble trying to download videos? i've tried to download several and they always get stuck at some whole number (like 16.0mb or 20.0mb) before getting abruptly stopped
i've tried downloading with wget but when wget reconnects to try and resume the download it just gets an error code 500
