you can download any mega link through jdownloader without needing an account, why can't kemono do that? Also why users can't append content stored elsewhere to the posts, I mean, it would be a problem to moderate manually uploaded stuff, but just implement some account trust license for that, for example if you used a scraper you should be able to add extra content.

On the contrary, I'm so happy when a creator uses MEGA because you can create several account with temporary/anonymous email addresses and copy all of the creator's content in an instant without downloading it.
When the creator's link expire, the content is still available on your mega. And if it's a video/image, it can be played directly in the browser without downloading anything.

But I agree that there should be a way to add those paywalled content to the post (maybe automatically if kemono doesn't trust the uploader ?)

It's widely used because it has a lot of convenient features that heavily benefit creators and uploaders, like folder sync, link expiry dates, link passwords, link refresh, etc. Easy AF tools for fighting leaks. I can play around the bandwidth limit (by being cursed with a dynamic IP) so I don't mind it as much, but it can still get pretty annoying when you start downloading huge ass folders.
