There are a variety of factors that determines why certain artists might get updated while others might not.
One reason is based off of community contribution. For an artist to have their page updated, first a paying, subscribed user has to share their session key, then the system has to get around to scraping it. If there are no paypigs willing to share, there are no updates. Some might be willing to share, but don't subscribe every single month, or they might not allow automatic importing and only import occasionally.
Another factor is that though kemono claims to support many sites, in truth the scrapers for each site is different and have different uptimes. That is to say, right now the patreon importer works, but sometimes it doesn't. The fanbox importer doesn't work, but it used to.
Etc etc etc.
