I usually spend a good hour or two finding new images from artists that get updated here, on exhentai, f95zone. If there wasn't shit worth saving, or during the drought a few months ago when Patreon/Fanbox importers were busted, I dug around on gelbooru and rule34 (xxx not pahael) recent posts for any paywall or intriguing stuff.

There's a free program called PureRef that lets you arrange a bunch of images, resize and drag stuff around. I'll toss the best of the night on there to finish up, or just a good comic on exhentai, or something else. Sometimes a good game is out on f95zone, or they someone uploads a collection that fills the void.

Prob 90% is browsing and adding to artists I already have archives for.

Oh and the best no bullshit software to view local picture galleries is neeview (and I have gone through a lot of them, believe me), it as if it was made for this sort of thing specifically you can navigate your collection with one hand.

I know it sounds crazy, but my ocd compells me to fill the width of the screen as much as possible. So I can either use one big picture, or multiple smaller ones. If I have a picture that is bigger than the screen, I will use the "fit window to screen" setting, then use the remaining space to open another copy of the image at full resolution, but resize the window to fit the space.

The next pic I plan on using is 2275 x 1280, so I just zoom in until it's 3660x2060. Each zoom step is 2%, relative, and I use irfanview with all the toolbars disabled except the menu bar, so it's not wasting any space.

Like I said, I know it's stupid.

90% of what you save every night should go into the trash. I tried going back through stuff I'd saved over like 6 years, and it was like looking at old photos of myself; BLUNDER YEARS.

Lots of shitty pin-ups, repeat saves from different sites with different file names, and stuff I'd already backed-up in my sorted-by-artist directory. Skim for things that might be lost to the internet, if you care enough or think you won't find it again.

I've been using visipics for years, but it's showing its age. I wish there was a better replacement.
