The URL must be rewritten each time: if the URL of a vimeo video is https://vimeo.com/1060198245, it must be rewritten to https://player.vimeo.com/video/1060198245 each time.
You can use the Redirector extension to automatically jump to the URL https://player.vimeo.com/video/ID. See the image for the Redirector settings.

I'm trying to get this to work for https://kemono.su/patreon/user/120382252 but their vimeo urls have an extra bit on the end, it's not just a number, it's followed by a slash and then some more stuff.

Anyone know how to download these videos with YT-DLP? I've tried using this:

yt-dlp https://player.vimeo.com/video/1057153713 –add-headers "Referer:https//www.patreon.com"

But I get an error stating "Cannot download embed-only video without embedding URL. Please call yt-dlp with the URL of the page that embeds this video."

OK, I've found something that seems to work - "Video DownloadHelper" (the one recommended on the Firefox Extensions page)

You have to jump through a few hoops to get it to work, as you need to install its "companion app" to download the format used by Vimeo. But it gets the job done?

I confirmed that you can download using Video DownloadHelper on fire fox. referer control and redirector are the same as the chrom version. vimeo downloader is available at https://addons. I used mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/awesome-vimeo-downloader/. With these 4 extensions you can download with firefox.
It seems that the referer control was incorrectly configured. Please do as shown in the image.

I usually use the –referer argument. I'm not sure if they're the same under the hood, but it might be worth a try.
