I noticed that over time, in order to stop sites like Kemono from accessing their Patreon content, artists have done a number of things to try and obfuscate links or passwords to files. They sent stuff via announcement or DMs, and now we import those. Then, they tried to use polls and comments, and we imported those too (at least, that's why I assume Kemono did that.)
As the image shows, I've found someone who's using community chats… whatever those are.
I feel like it'd be a bit much to make an entire new import feature for just one artist, so I have a different proposal:
Let people put notes on posts with important info, like download links or passwords.
That would solve the issue, albeit not perfectly. But, as an upside, it would be a catch-all solution for ANY tricks artists wanted to use. Plus, it would make things more convenient for navigating confusing Patreons.
Obviously, there'd have to be some sort of system for it. Like, you could only upload a comment to the post if you're an importer. Or have it work like Community Notes on Twitter?
I don't know how the logistics would work, but I think it'd be helpful!
And, if this is the wrong place to put this, let me know.

A system like that would be good to have, but it would require moderation. These guys can't even adequately moderate this slow-ass board. So it's never going to happen, for the same reason as manual uploads.

>>53264There's already an option to put passwords in the files. But only a few people care to do so. The difference would be the possibility to put download links in the notes.

>>53276I don't believe there'd ever be a system to put download links.
