Heck, there's even debate over whether certain generations even exist (e.g. Baby Boomers and whether they really cover two would-be generations, or whether there was a Silent Generation or an "Interwar Generation"), it's painfully subjective. In some countries (they have different approaches towards how to define a generation. For example there's one country somewhere in eastern Europe where people just define it by the decade you're born in (i.e. the 1980s born generation, the 1990s born generation, etc.).
Sure, some sources may put it as early as 1995, but I've seen some put the Gen Z start date as late as 2008 because… Obama? Yeah it's subjective as hell.
