If anything, refusing to use English can actually be detrimental and alienate audiences as only 126 million people are able to speak Japanese (about 99% of whom are only from Japan) while 1.5 billion people from around the world are able to speak English. Burn all the bridges you want, but think twice before burning your most reliable bridge to the world.
