If I subscribe to a Patreon and upload the key to Kemono, will the key only work for as long as I am subscribed? Also, what happened to the bros who uploaded fanfics from "Totallynotsnipez" and "Ussexplorer"

Yes, the session key only works for as long as you are subscribed since the importer accesses your session to scrape and upload content to the site. If your session can't access content, neither can Kemono (it just piggybacks on your account).
