BREAKING NEWS: Two US politicians have introduced a bill which, if passed, would require you to both need an account AND age verification just so you can even use… wait for it… YOUR COMPUTER/PHONE (etc.).

If you think the idea of requiring an account just to use the INTERNET is scary, this pretty much covers that AND MORE. Imagine Windows, macOS, Android, Linux (etc.) being forced to implement this thing. And if you think it's just a problem for the US, take one moment to stop and think about what Discord did. THIS COULD BE GLOBAL.

>Oh no, let's download shit

Not with an account-linked PC you can't.

>Oh no, let's put it onto USBs, external hard drives, SD cards, CDs, etc.

And how are you going to access or even edit what's on them? Your TV? If it's too old, many files may not even come up due to retarded formatting issues, and if it's too recent (and especially if it could connect to the internet), it could require an account / age verification (or require that from another device) just so you could use it.

If the bill passes, it may come into effect in 2028 (and before you go "that's a problem for my older self", remember that's just an eventual tomorrow) and MAY KILL DIGITAL PRIVACY ONCE AND FOR ALL. (never mind the fact this is being done in the name of "child protection", whatever that's even supposed to mean anymore)

THIS BILL MUST BE STOPPED AT ALL COSTS.

Yeah this is what i was mainly concerned about in spite of our guy Zodiac coming up with the 2-second solutions, how would i use some of the tech if i can't even get into my fucking computer to use them?

Maybe dual-booting can be a solution? But i don't think running 2 OSes at a time is a thing…

So, we can't use the McLovin ID to verify?Shit.

Yes. The last thing i need is a bunch of Mexican fat women, War refugees, Somalis, and Jews voting away my freedoms because they grew up without human rights or common sense.

That's in California, not congress or the senate.

90% of the time any kind of censorship legislation comes from cracker-ass puritards who think being lame because of the threat of a bad afterlife is equivalent to morality. Maybe not the person who first signed and endorsed it publicly, but some rich white men like Peter Thiel and his buds always paid for it under the table. Palantir is as American as apple pie and baseball.

Foreigners mostly come to America because of the freedoms promised compared to where they came from, meanwhile the rich white men who want to police your every move will blame them for everything wrong in your life. And you, the obedient little slave, chow down on their pile of horseshit like it's a bowl of ice cream.

Well last i checked, it's also the women, worse yet menopausal middle-aged women, that made everything seem so "insulting" and "racist," not being able to take a joke from time to time.

The ladyboys, the naieve sometimes illegal immigrants, and the progressives that are a few braincells short of understanding American politics across the pond are an aggressive vector of them.

 No.68178

You dumb fucks have no one to blame other than Republican organizations like Palantir who are using "protect the kids" and other bullshit as a way to increase surveillance. Not a single Politician actually cares about kids unless it's about fucking them.

As Gavin Newsom, I assert that while I understand concerns about privacy and data security, the bill I signed is essential for addressing pressing issues that benefit our communities. This legislation will help in streamlining processes that drive innovation and economic growth. We must balance our commitment to progress with the need for strong protections, but sometimes tough decisions are necessary for the greater good. My priority remains focused on the overall well-being and safety of California's residents.

 No.68293

Uh huh, sure. Few inconsistencies;

One, Why is your tag @gov.ca.gov?
Two, Did you even read the bill, understand it in full, and it's supposed effects you define as "economically," "infrastructurally," and "morally" sane?
Three, I'm surprised you started to care about your communities after all this time especially after the LA Fires all of a sudden
Four, Why in the fuck are you on a greentext "imageboard" about pirating from R34 Artists??
